What is the Significance of fiber to Diabetic Patients?

[The patient followed my Diet from 2006 - 2007, when he got his food cured]

Significance of FIBER to a Diabetic Patients!

The American Diabetic Association has done a lot of research on how dietary fiber affects blood sugar and health in general.

According to a study, increase in dietary fiber reduces blood glucose as well as the risk of heart disease. Another study was conducted by giving 29 to 35 grams of fiber on a daily basis to few diabetic patients. The findings show that this diet reduced not only the BMI but also the blood pressure along with BSL.

So, my first-hand experience says, Dietary fiber remarkably reduces blood triglycerides and cholesterol. Such diet not only reduces blood sugar among diabetic patients very well but also controls diabetic complications extremely efficiently.

It is seen that one can safely reduce diabetic medication right from the first week of the prescribed diet. Patients with lower than desired body weight, see weight gain and eventually need not take medicines.

Look at this photograph for example. When this person came to me from Jalgaon in March`this year, his big toe and second toe had diabetic wounds (diabetic wounds are those which do not heal easily because the blood contains high amount of sugar). And due to the high sugar the blood-vessels had been blocked, this patient was advised for amputation of affected toes. When we checked the patient's fasting sugar was 300mg, now a BSL above 160mg is considered normal high.

I designed diet for him with fiber about 25gms, along with low carb, low fat adequate proteins (0.8gms per kg ideal body weight)

One month later, when he called asking for more supplements, his foot had already recovered and sent me his these photographs via whatsapp. (1st photo is the diabetic wound and the second photo shows his foot after a month)

His Fasting sugar was stable at 140mg

Thank you
